Most verbs: -e, -st, -t, -en, -t, -en
Example: machen → ich mache, du machst, er macht, wir machen...
Watch for: verbs ending in -d or -t often insert an extra e, as in arbeiten → du arbeitest.
Pattern: the vowel often changes only in du and er/sie/es.
Example: fahren → du fährst, er fährt, but wir fahren.
Common types: a -> ä, e -> i, e -> ie.
Pattern: the prefix moves to the end in main clauses.
Example: anrufen → ich rufe dich später an.
In Perfekt: the participle usually keeps the prefix, as in ich habe angerufen.
Pattern: auxiliary + participle.
Examples: ich habe gemacht, ich bin gegangen.
Good default: most verbs use haben; movement and change-of-state verbs often use sein.
